Became only the second left-hander after Bob Charles to win The Senior Open Championship when he held off former Major Champions Mark Calcavecchia, Corey Pavin and Tom Watson at Walton Heath. A final round 67 gave him a two stroke victory, with his son Reed on the bag for the biggest win of his career. Won twice on the US Champions Tour in 2010, the Posco E&C Songdo Championship Presented By Gale International in September 2010 before going on to win the very next event on the schedule, the SAS Championship. His sole victory on the US PGA Tour in the 1991 Centel Western Open when he overcame a five-stroke deficit over eight holes to beat Greg Norman. Started playing with ladies golf clubs because he couldn’t find any other left-handed clubs. His son Ryan scored a hole-in-one at age 6six, one of youngest ever to record an ace. Ryan shot 67 in Monday qualifier for 1998 FedEx St. Jude Classic, missing a playoff for final tournament spot by one stroke. An avid University of Kentucky basketball fan.
