Having served notice of his talent with top ten finishes in Argentina and France, he duly claimed his maiden title at the 2008 Scottish Challenge. In testing conditions the man from Amsterdam showed astonishing maturity to card six birdies on the front nine en route to a round of 65 to finish on 13 under par, five shots clear of his nearest challengers. Three months later, sealed an emotional victory on home soil at The Dutch Futures Presented by The Royal Bank of Scotland to effectively guarantee his place on The 2009 European Tour International Schedule. Spurred on by a partisan home crowd, Remkes used his local knowledge to good effect when triumphing at the first hole of a sudden-death play-off with Denmark’s Jeppe Huldahl. At the Margara Diehl-Ako Platinum Open three weeks later he secured his third title of the season, again via a play-off, this time over Finland’s Roope Kakko. Lost his card in 2009, but ensured another bite of the cherry by taking the 30th card at the 2011 Qualifying School, a 65 in the fifth round crucial to his challenge.
