(Joined Tour by winning the Clariden Leu Singapore Masters 2007) Qualifying School

Became only the second Chinese golfer to win on The European Tour when, in 2007, he followed Zhang Lian-wei into the winners’ enclosure by winning the same event – the Singapore Masters at Laguna National Golf Club. His victory was then the seventh by an Affiliate Member in European Tour history, and immediately elevated him to full European Tour status. Kicked on from there to win the Asian Tour’s Order of Merit in 2007, the first time it had been won by a Chinese golfer, which in turn qualified him for The 2008 Open Championship – another first for a Chinese golfer. Made the most of his limited appearances on The European Tour in 2013, recording three top five finishes in just 11 starts. Possesses an unorthodox swing, as his follow through is reminiscent of a baseball swing. Grew up in Zhongshan, home of China’s first modern-day golf course in the 1980s. Introduced to the game at school when he was 16.
