Adrien Saddier took control on the back nine at Argentario Golf Club to win the Italian Open and claim his maiden DP World Tour win.

In sweltering hot conditions in Tuscany, the Frenchman celebrated his 200th start on Tour in style as a flawless back nine that featured five birdies led him to a two-shot win over countryman Martin Couvra.

Ranked in the top ten for Putts Per Gir on Tour this season, his success was aided with the implementation of a new putter in his bag.

Saddier switched from a L.A.B Golf, OZ.1i to a L.A.B DF3 – the same model that JJ Spaun used to win the U.S. Open.

The “L.A.B.” stands for “lie angle balanced,” which means the putters are tailored to your height and putting stance. The putter is designed to eliminate torque during the putting stroke and bring the head back square at impact.

The putter swap helped Saddier gain almost three strokes on the greens and as he finished first for Strokes Gained: Putting. He also avoided a three putt through all four rounds.

Otherwise, he has mostly stuck with the same bag this season.

Saddier will sometimes switch between using his one iron or a hybrid, but the one iron has been in for his last five events over the European Swing.

He added the Cobra DS-Adapt X fairway wood into the bag at the Joburg Open, while he added a Mizuno Pro S-3 five iron to his Mizuno Pro 241 irons at the Dubai Desert Classic and it has remained in the bag since.
