The 23-year-old carded a stunning seven under par 64, despite a triple bogey six at the 17th, to reach 11 under par at The Celtic Manor Resort.

An eagle two at 15th was followed by a huge birdie putt at the next. He then dialled into three feet and two feet respectively at the last two holes for further gains to get to a tie for third at nine under.

Jordan Smith and caddie Harry Bird were mic'd up for the second round and the latter was in fine form with his witty comments. Smith carded a second successive 68 to sit five adrift of Horsfield. Here is just a snippet of Bird's humour.

Migliozzi's immaculate drive

Guido Migliozzi made the most of the driveable par four 15th with this stunning tee shot. He went on to birdie the hole.
