US PGA Championship: DP World Tour Fantasy Ones to Watch

The second Major of the year is here at the US PGA Championship and here is all that players of the DP World Tour's official fantasy game need to know.

Returning for the first time since 1962, Aronimink Golf Club is playing host to this year's US PGA Championship for the second time in its history after Gary Player won the title there 64 years ago.

A mutilple time venue on the PGA TOUR (last holding an event in 2018), there are some with experience like Justin Rose, but for many others - including World Number One Scottie Scheffler - a new challenge awaits.

Scheffler earned his third Major title in this event at Quail Hollow last year with a five-shot victory over Bryson DeChambeau, the biggest winning margin since Rory McIlroy won by eight shots in 2012. Between them, Scheffler and McIlroy have won four of the last five and five of the last nine Major Championships.

They are just two of a long list of players to watch out for this week. There is an impressive total of 55 DP World Tour members in action, including 11 players making their US PGA Championship debut. Four of that number - Angel Ayora, Kota Kaneko, Mikael Lindberg and Jayden Schaper - are also making their Major Championship debut.

Who are the most backed players?

World Number One Scheffler is defending champion this week and with three runner-up finishes in his last three starts, it's no shock he's currently been picked by 77.06% of players of our fantasy game,

Recent PLAYERS champion Cameron Young is the second most picked player on 67.44%, while Masters Champion McIlroy rounds out the top three on 59.13%. Matt Fitzpatrick, who is a three-time winner on the PGA TOUR so far this season, is fourth in 40.41% of teams.

Who are our ones to watch?

Here, we pick out three players in action this week who are worth considering for your Fantasy team selections.

Favourite: Scottie Scheffler

There are no surprises that the defending champion and World Number One is the bookmakers’ favourite. Scheffler hasn’t finished outside the top 25 anywhere since 2024, and this season already has a victory at The American Express plus three runner‑up finishes — all in his last three starts. His Major record speaks for itself: four wins among 17 top tens in his last 22 Major appearances, including top‑ten finishes in five of his six US PGA Championship starts. Scheffler also leads the PGA TOUR in a host of key categories, including strokes gained total, birdie average, scoring average and greens in regulation, making him feel like a safe choice so far for 77.06% of players of our fantasy game,

Form Horse: Alex Fitzpatrick

While this spot could easily have gone to either Matt Fitzpatrick or Alex Fitzpatrick, the edge goes to Alex as he prepares for his US PGA Championship debut. The younger Fitzpatrick arrives at Aronimink on a remarkable run, with two wins and three further top‑ten finishes in his last five starts. He opened his year with two top‑20s in Dubai and Bahrain, and after a missed cut in Qatar, became a constant presence on leaderboards. A tied 14th at the Investec South African Open Championship kick‑started his surge, followed by a tied sixth at the Joburg Open and a breakthrough maiden DP World Tour victory at the Hero Indian Open. With Matt also winning the previous week, the pair became the first brothers to win on the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour in back‑to‑back weeks. Less than a month later, Alex won again — this time alongside Matt — as they made history as the first brothers to win the Zurich Classic, earning him a two‑year PGA TOUR exemption and a place in this week’s field. He followed that with a tied ninth at the Cadillac Championship and a top‑four finish at last week’s Truist Championship.

An honourable mention goes to Kristoffer Reitan, the two‑time DP World Tour winner also making his US PGA Championship debut. After winning in South Africa earlier this season, Reitan finished runner‑up to the Fitzpatrick brothers at the Zurich Classic before claiming his maiden PGA TOUR title at last week’s Truist Championship. His last five starts read: T10 – T41 – 2 – T14 – WIN.

Wild Card: Mikael Lindberg

Mikael Lindberg is another DP World Tour winner making his Major debut this week, and he arrives with plenty of form as the winner of the Asian Swing. He has missed just one cut since last August — the week before finishing inside the top three at the Volvo China Open — and secured his first DP World Tour title two weeks ago with a two‑stroke victory at the 2026 Turkish Airlines Open, earning his place at Aronimink.

One of the longest hitters in the field, Lindberg ranks second in driving distance and first in strokes gained off the tee on the DP World Tour this season. He will be hoping that combination of power and consistency translates onto the Major stage.
