Hails from Pontefract in Yorkshire and learned the game as a junior at Wheatley Golf Club. Off the course enjoys playing snooker, pool and squash, and says Mark Selby, Judd Trump and Andy Roddick are his sporting heroes.

Spent two years on the PGA EuroPro Tour before earning Challenge Tour exemption for 2014. Could not make an impact on the second tier and was back on the PGA EuroPro Tour in 2015, losing a play-off in the season finale in October but more than making amends by securing a rookie season on the 2016 Race to Dubai.

Earned a maiden DP World Tour victory at the 2021 ISPS HANDA World Invitational presented by Modest! Golf Management, overturning a seven-stroke deficit in the final round to win by one stroke from David Horsey.

Won his second title at the 2023 Ras Al Khaimah Championship in dramatic fashion, ending his round with a double bogey seven, holing a putt from 28 feet to win by one stroke at Al Hamra Golf Club.
