Has been one of Scotland’s top coaches for 20 years, and was in 2007 inducted into Stirling University Golf Coaches Hall of Fame in recognition of all his work on behalf of helping so many talented golfers. Also a superbly consistent presence on the Senior Tour where he has won three times. Ended a three year gap without a title when he beat Glenn Ralph in a play-off for the Scandinavian Senior Open at Royal Copenhagen GC in Denmark in 2007. That came a year after he narrowly missed out on retaining his full playing privileges after finishing one place outside the top 30 on the Order of Merit. Was runner up on five occasions in 2004, before claiming a deserved victory at the Seniors Tour Championship en route to finishing third in the Order of Merit. His maiden win came in the Travis Perkins Senior Masters the previous year. Represented Scotland at Boys level and subsequently became one of the Tartan Tour’s most accomplished performers. Played for Great Britain & Ireland in five PGA Cups between 1982 and 1992, and in 2001 achieved one of his most impressive feats by winning the Scottish Professional Championship for a second time, 25 years after he first won it in 1976.
