The Irishman has been grouped with Lucas Herbert and George Coetzee for the first two rounds at Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort in Northern Ireland.

Lowry, whose maiden Open success came in the same country last year, is chasing his first win at the event since his memorable victory as an amateur in 2009.

He has been grouped with Portugal Masters winner Coetzee and Omega Dubai Desert Classic champion Herbert.

Three-time Major Champion Padraig Harrington starts his first round at 13.00 alongside Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters winner John Catlin and Justin Harding, who has two top threes since the European Tour resumed in July.

Garrick Higgo, winner at the Open de Portugal at Royal Óbidos last week, starts at 12.50 alongside six-time European Tour winner Joost Luiten and Thailand's Jazz Janewattananond.

Søren Kjeldsen, winner at the event in 2015, starts at 09.25 with James Sugrue and Laurie Canter, while the big-hitting trio of Wilco Nienaber, Nicolas Colsaerts and Ryan Fox will tee off at 09.15.
