Day three digest: 2022 Dutch Open

Everything you need to know from day three at Bernardus Golf.

Victor Perez

Matt and Victor hit the front, Ryan was looking for a big finish, Guido produced a moment of magic and fortune was fickle on Moving Day at the 2022 Dutch Open.

Here is everything you need to know from Saturday in Cromvoirt.

Perez and Wallace lead the way

Victor Perez and Matt Wallacewill head into the final day at the top of a congested leaderboard after a testing third round. In gusting winds on the links-style layout, Perez signed for a 69 to set the target as he chases a second DP World Tour victory, only to see four-time winner Wallace birdie the last to complete a 70 and join him at ten under. In-form Kiwi Ryan Fox, Australian Scott Hend, Italy's Guido Migliozzi and Swede Sebastian Soderberg were then at nine under, a shot clear of another Swede in Alexander Björk, Portugal's Ricardo Gouveia and Pole Adrian Meronk. The top 15 players were separated by just five shots, with 13 different nationalities represented within that top 15.

In-form Fox hoping for final flourish

Fox was happy to be feeling the right kind of nerves as he looked to end a six-week purple patch with a second win of the season. He has been one of the form players on the DP World Tour since mid-April, finishing 15th at the ISPS Handa Championship in Spain and then securing back-to-back top-tens before registering a tie for second at the Soudal Open. He then made the cut at last week's US PGA Championship and will now head into the final round here just one shot off the lead. “I wouldn’t say it is a comfortable situation yet but having done it the last few weeks, I certainty feel pretty happy to be there," he said. "They are the nerves you want to get going into the last round. Hopefully I can keep playing like I have been playing and if not I am certainly looking forward to a couple of weeks off, this is my sixth week in a row, so regardless of what happens tomorrow it has been a good run.”

Magic from Migliozzi

Ignoring signs isn't always the best advice - but it is if you're Migliozzi. What a shot.

Gouveia was not so fortunate. What is that sprinkler head made of?!
