Community
Leaving a lasting legacy in the communities we visit around the world through our charitable initiatives, and by using our global tournament and media platforms to boost participation amongst underrepresented groups and help people develop new skills.
As Golf’s Global Tour, we work hard to build and connect diverse communities of fans across the globe. Our goal is to leave a positive legacy in the communities we visit through our charitable initiatives, and by using our global tournaments and innovative media content to boost participation amongst underrepresented groups and help people develop new skills.
Our people, with their diversity of thought and willingness to embrace innovation, are at the heart of this community building.
Health
Golf is a sport that brings a wide range of physical and mental health benefits to those who play or spectate, and we want to help encourage more people to get out and enjoy this great game.
Physical health
Golf is the only spectator sporting experience where you can walk your 10,000 steps.
Modern golfers are true athletes, and the strengthening and conditioning exercises can help people age well.
Mental health
Golf is a game that brings people together across communities and generations. With social isolation on the rise, golf’s inclusive nature creates lifelong friendships and memories.
Golf is a game that builds your mental resilience. We work with partners to use golf as a tool to help people develop these skills.
Environment
Our work to become a respected sustainability showcase. This is through our Green Drive project to become the first golf Tour to reach net zero carbon, and our work to champion the importance of nature.
Green Drive to Net Zero
Green Drive is the Tour’s project to reach net zero carbon and become a respected sustainability showcase that can deliver net positive impacts on the courses, countries and communities we visit each season.
Nature
Golf is deeply rooted in the great outdoors and relies on a healthy natural world to survive.
Through our host venues and European Tour Design business, we are encouraging best practice in golf course management, and showcasing exceptional work in implementing conservation programmes, rewilding initiatives, and native plantings to support local biodiversity.
Playing golf or attending a tournament can be a gateway to experiencing the natural world, particularly amongst younger people who are increasingly disconnected from nature – with damaging long-term implications.
Stunning pictures of rich golfing landscapes from 25 countries are beamed around the world every year, and tens of thousands fans experience this in person each week. We are working with host venues to showcase rich nature stories to our fans – whether watching on-site or at home – in engaging ways.
